Abstract

Tanjung Ratu Village is one of the areas with a majority of cattle farms. However, as the number of livestock increases, the issue of cattle manure waste has become a serious challenge that has the potential to cause environmental pollution. In response to this issue, the 2025 Lampung University Community Service Program (KKN) students initiated a community service program aimed at educating and empowering the residents of Tanjung Ratu Village, Pakuan Ratu District, Way Kanan Regency to manage cattle manure waste into environmentally friendly compost, while also supporting sustainable agricultural practices. The program was implemented through several stages, including awareness-raising sessions on the importance of waste management, training in simple composting techniques using aerobic methods, and guidance for the community throughout the process. The results of the activities demonstrated the community's enthusiasm and active participation in every stage of the program. Cow manure, which was previously disposed of carelessly, is now being utilized as economically valuable compost. Additionally, the program has successfully raised environmental awareness among the community and addressed fertilizer distribution issues in Tanjung Ratu Village. Through an approach based on education, collaboration, and hands-on fieldwork, the program demonstrates that local waste management can serve as a concrete solution for building a more self-reliant, productive, and environmentally conscious village.
